In June 2010 FIDE office issued the first edition
of an electronic FIDE Newsletter.
The specific topics in the Newsletter should inform
all recipients in a short overview about the actual
and important developments in the medical technology
and dental sector.
FIDE office is planning to release the Newsletter
at regular intervals in the future.
All recipients should inform FIDE office if they
have topics for the newsletter or ideas for improvement.
The UNIDI's General Meeting, held in Milan on the
22nd of June 2010, has been confirmed the following

 The
Federation of the European Dental Industry mourns for
Dennis Carroll
who passed away after a short but terminal illness
on Wednesday 10th June in Scotland.
Dennis was a longtime reprensentative of the British
Dental Trade Association in the FIDE meetings and
member of the FIDE Executive Committee from 2001-2005.
He also was one of the founders of the ADDE-FIDE European
Dental Market Survey, which was published for the
first time in 2001. In the following years he promoted
this survey with wide commitment and conveyed this
economic survey at our annual press conference, for
the last time during the IDS in March 2009 in Cologne.
Dennis was a dedicated colleague and friend and also
a loyal and faithful representative of our Federation,
who promoted the interests of the dental industry
with fervour. We will remember him with thanks and
gratitude and what he achieved in his work for the
dental industry. In this difficult time of loss we
wish his partner Ms. Kath Payne and his family our
sympathy and God`s loving comfort and blessings.

Sebastian Voss to the board of directors - Martin
Haase to the advisory council
Cologne, 24.06.2009. Dr. Martin Rickert (Sycotec) having
completed a 6- year term as chairman of the Association
of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI e.V.) was unanimously
re-elected for the next term 2009-2011. In addition
to the re-election of Deputies Henry Rauter and Christoph
Weiss, Sebastian Voss was voted in for the first time.
Dr. Rickert expressed his thanks for the voting results,
and his appreciation for this display of the membership’s
trust in the Board & Advisory Council.

Jürgen Eberlein Named Executive Committee President
On 23rd March 2009, during the IDS 2009, a new FIDE
Board was unanimously elected by the General Assembly
for a two-year term of office. Dr. Jürgen Eberlein,
a long-time FIDE board member, was elected to the office
of President, a post which he had previously held from
1995-2001. New member in the Board is Mark Chapman,
who was nominated by BDTA.

Amidst the hype of the Parliamentary Elections taking
place across Europe on 4 June, the BDTA held its own
ballot to elect and appoint members of its council.
The AGM held on 28 May 2009 at the Association’s
Annual Conference in Bath saw the election of two
new councillors, the re-election of an existing council
member and the appointment of the next BDTA President
and Vice-President.
Edward Attenborough, Managing Director of Attenborough
Direct was appointed as the next President and will
take over from current BDTA President, Simon Gambold,
on 1 January 2010. Karen Turner, Managing Director
of Dentafix, was put forward as the next Vice-President
and was voted in by an overwhelming majority of members.
Karen will also assume the role from January 2010.
Simon Tucker, Director at Medenta Finance, and Mike
Cann, General Manager of Septodont, were both elected
as new members of Council with immediate effect. Peter
Gowers, Managing Director of Panadent, was re-elected
to Council and will continue to serve the Association
in this capacity.
